Infrastructure Layer
Physical or virtual infrastructure that sustains network operation.
The infrastructure layer is the physical or virtual infrastructure that provides processing, connectivity, storage capacity where required, and energy to sustain network operation.
Morphic Architecture Design: four logical layers
In the message example, this is the layer that operates devices, routers, network equipment, and computing resources so a communication can be transported at all.
Infrastructure providers control their infrastructure. A change at this layer does not need to redefine identity, application logic, or resource ownership.
